TLoS:Beginnings

  Spyro and Cynder sat together staring out at the far off horizon and the distant islands,once under the Dark Master's merciless rule.Something was wrong,they could both fell it,but both had trouble speaking it.The Dark Master wanted Cynder back.None of them would stand for it.Not Ignitus,Terrador,Volteer,or Cyril.Sparx happened to still think of Cynder as the enemy.
  At first Sparx had said,"Let him take back the she-demon!"Though his opinion changed swiftly after almost being caught in Terrador's maw.Spyro looked at Cydner and thought,She's so beautiful...and so hurt.Spyro spoke aloud to Cynder,who was enchanted by the view,"You're so very very beautiful,Cynder. Yet I can see the pain in your heart.Remember what people say 'Love can conquer anything'?Maybe that will work in this...or maybe-!"
  "Spyro!"Cynder snapped angrily,"There's nothing you can do for me.I'm nothing more than the Dark Master's pitiful pet.You heard what the Chronicler said about my future,I will be his pet once more."Tears streamed down her face.
  Spyro carefully wiped away the tears with his wing and whispered to her,"We can do it,Cynder,together.We can change that for the better."
  Cynder turned away from Spyro,not wanting him to see anymore of her tears.She heard him about to speak and turned to him abruptly.Face to face,lips almost touching, and she whispered the one simple word with the hardest of all answers,"How?"
  Spyro knew not the answer and instead of telling her once more of love's power he kissed her right on her lips.She opened her mouth slightly to welcome his dancing tongue into her mouth.Her eyes were barely open and Spyro's were closed.
  Spyro broke the kiss and whispered in her ear,"We CAN do it,Cynder.All we need to do is defy the Dark Master,by any means necessary."
  Cynder leaned her head on his shoulder and said,"Spyro,you're right we can do this...together!Now the only question is,'When?'"
  Neither knew the answer nor any of the others.All they could do is sit wrapped in each other's own personal thoughts as the days of darkness drew ever nearer, despite Spyro's hardest and strongest efforts.
